Locks & Seals

Lock 2 is used to start the election.  It is used to determine that voting only occurs during the regular voting hours.

Lock 2 is used along with wire seals, which are used to protect the integrity of the ballot.  The ballot is placed in the display holder, locked, and sealed.

Lock 2 is also used along with entrance knob seals, encryption, check sums, redundant storage of vote selections, and vote totals from each selection mechanism.  In addition, it works with consolidated totals (Palm, flash memory, as well as CD burned), sealed CDs, digital signature (to verify the unofficial results after the polls close), and state logic (the voting logic to prevent unauthorized voting or viewing of consolidated results).
