Palm Content Trail

      Selection mechanisms can be replaced in a manner that is hot swappable without changing anything in the controller.  If the palm device fails, it likewise is hot swappable.  The palm stores the consolidated vote totals for the selection mechanism in which it is contained, and for all the other selection mechanisms.  In the event of failure, the palm device is hot swapped out, and the contents of the old palm are loaded from the computer or any other Palm.  Every Palm is an exact duplicate of every other Palm.
